A Florida bass angler’s favorite time of
year is the spring. Big female bass can be found cruising through the shallow water, ready to set up and go through their annual spawning ritual. Smaller male bass are aggressive and can be caught by dropping anything at all anywhere close to them. But when the cold spells move in and that sharp drop happens to the water temperature, the bass get spawning long before we may be ready.

This year, we have had one of the most pleasant winters we have had as long as I can remember. Near record highs just two weeks ago have made winter seem almost nonexistent here in Florida. Trees are budding already where I live , and the pollen is starting to dust the vehicles in parking lots that have trees around them. All signs point to a very early spring with warmer temperatures right around the corner.
