To new beginnings

Although somewhere there’s a guy sitting in a bunker waiting for the apocalypse festivities to kick off, I’m actually a little psyched about Dec. 21. It’s not the end of the world — the Mayans didn’t believe that. If there were any of them here, they’d tell us this is a time of renewal and rebirth. A time to celebrate, not to put your head between your knees. It’s like New Year’s, except 400 times more significant.
Renewal is important, because if you’re not changing and evolving you’re just sitting around getting stale. I don’t know about you, but I don’t relish the idea of being day-old bread — and not just because I don’t want to be fed to the local flock of Muscovies.
