House strokes rowing dreams

The Florida Legislature approved a $74.5 billion budget shortly before 7 p.m. Friday that includes $5 million for the rowing complex in Sarasota County.

Pending approval from Gov. Rick Scott, the budget also includes money for water projects in Charlotte and DeSoto counties; a feasibility study for a research and education aquarium in Charlotte County; and raises for state employees.
