The Venice High football team (7-2, 2-1) will close out its regular season with a tough away game Friday as the Indians travel south to take on the undefeated Naples Golden Eagles (8-0).
Naples, like Venice, is a run-first team that relies on a two-headed monster on the ground. However, whereas the Indians’ attack is predicated on the quarterback and the running back, the Eagles employ a two-back system. Senior Manny Morgan has run for 1,247 yards and 21 touchdowns on 133 carries this year, while sophomore Max Joseph has accounted for 484 yards and eight touchdowns on 51 carries. Between those two and quarterback Kilton Anderson, the Golden Eagles have run for more than 2,000 yards and 41 touchdowns this season.
