The Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office has arrested MacKenzie Egeland, 18, after a man allegedly found him burglarizing his South Venice home about 11 p.m. last night.

Deputies responded to Forest Road and were assisted in their search by sheriff’s office helicopter Air-1 and the Venice Police Department. K-9 Officer Long and her dog Abram tracked the suspect from the point of entry at the victim’s home to a residence on Edgewood Road.
