Francis R. Taylor
Francis Roeder Taylor, 94, of Venice, formerly of Danbury, Conn., died Wednesday, Dec. 19, 2012.
Roeder was born July 2, 1918 in St. Louis, Mo., to Clara (Roeder) and John Fletcher Darby Taylor.
He had proudly served in the U.S. Army during World War II. Roeder loved to travel and was an accomplished artist. He worked at Calico Corners for 52 years. Roeder was preceded in death by his wife, Phyllis Ann Starr Taylor; his sister, Blanche Elise Moor; and his brother, James Darby Taylor.
Survivors include his son, J. Charles “Chuck” (wife Laura) Taylor of Sandy Hook, Conn.; sister, Dorothy Gerard of Venice; two grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Services: A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m., Thursday, Dec. 27, at Epiphany Cathedral with burial immediately following at Venice Memorial Gardens.
