The concept of public-private partnerships has taken a slamming in recent years — what with you-know-where in North Port and you-know-where-else in Murdock.
But these partnerships do work. They can help preserve something people appreciate and they can build something that better serves the public interest at times when the private sector can’t or won’t do it on their own.
