An estimated 350,000 people enjoy annually the popular Venice Inlet beach resort at the North Jetty Park in Nokomis, and by January of 2014, it is expected this number will steadily increase with the opening of the new public facilities.
Those facilities, the former restrooms built in 1977, are being acquired by the Sarasota County Parks & Recreation Department. The facilities are being replaced by a $1.4 million facility providing men’s, women’s and two family restrooms, outdoor showers and a beach concession.
