Large tilapia succumbed to a fish kill at Pine Lake this week.

Art Bacon, chairman of the Pine Lake Homeowners Association, said he saw the first signs of a fish kill in the subdivision’s lake last Friday. Interestingly, the fish kill affected only large tilapia, between 10 and 14 inches long, and not the largemouth bass, koi carp, nor juvenile tilapia or any other fish species in the lake.
