SARASOTA COUNTY — If Sarasota County Administrator Randall Reid has his way with the upcoming Fiscal Year 2014 county budget, employees of Sarasota County could see their first pay increase in nearly five years.

“The budget we’re building is based on being able to provide up to a 3 percent compensation to employees,” Reid said at a recent budget workshop. “Many of the increases that we’d have would have to be negotiated with our union, as they’re often not in line with the budget time frame, but will make sure that we set aside money up front for our
employee compensation for our nonbargaining employees.”
