NORTH PORT — Students at Heron Creek Middle School experienced the power of writing in a new way Monday, working with the Adam Ezra Group to put their language arts studies into an entirely new context.

The group was scheduled to work with three sets of students and perform a concert for the school Monday afternoon. Based in Boston, lead singer Ezra and his eponymous band have toured with Rusted Root, The Avett Brothers, Jason Mraz, The Goo Goo Dolls, Blues Traveler, Los Lobos, Toad the Wet Sprocket, Dwight Yoakam and more.
