The Charlotte High School Tarpons baseball team held its annual awards ceremony on May 10 in the school cafeteria. The varsity team finished its season at 12-12, but it did something no other Tarpon team had ever done. They won the prestigious Sarasota Classic Tournament. That tournament attracts the best programs around, and the Tarpons have their name etched permanently on that trophy.

Head coach Dan Flaherty said, “That’s something this team will always be able to hang their hat on, winning that tournament. We were loose and played well and everything jelled for us. We had a good week.”
