PUNTA GORDA — Bethany Heslam returned to more peaceful surroundings Thursday, coaching her Port Charlotte High School girls track team through the District 3A-11 meet.
It had only been three days since the deadly explosions near the finish line at the Boston Marathon. She had been done with the race for about 50 minutes and had rejoined her family at the family reunion area a short distance from the first blast.
