The Charlotte High School junior varsity girls basketball team has “come a long way since October,” said coach Rebecca Franz. One area is the team’s rebounding. Shown here are Lilli Babilonia, No. 25, Mykelli Taylor, No. 20, Jamie Gonzalez and Carly Kotlarski, No. 10, surround the ball in the win over Venice High School 38-24.
The Charlotte High School Tarpons girls junior varsity basketball team hosted the Venice High School Indians in Punta Gorda Dec. 4 and came out of it with a comfortable 38-24 win. It could also have been described as a typical or enjoyable game.
The Tarpons, now 4-2 on the season, always held a nice lead of around 8-10 points, which gave coach Rebecca Franz the opportunity to give the team’s bench some time on the court. With a young squad of just three sophomores and eight freshmen, the more time the substitutes can get on the court will only help them more when they have to step up in the future.
