Kenneth “Kenny” Worcester grabbed the wings of an eagle Thursday morning, December 20, 2012 and soared gracefully to heaven to be with our Lord Jesus Christ.

Ken was born April 1, 1959 in Schenectady, NY, and after spending time in Bay City MI he called Florida home for the past 27 years.

Though a carpenter by trade, he could be found using his handyman skills to care for the Foxwood Condominium residents as well as other numerous friends in the Englewood community. He was a “brother” to many, and was never too busy to help someone in need. A proud man, much set in his ways, known best for his signature attire of jeans, flannel shirt, a bandana around his head and a carpenter’s pencil stuck behind his ear.

As an avid motorcycle enthusiast, Ken loved being on the open road and the great outdoors. Sharing a lot of road time with longtime friend Billy (Tina) Brown. He had greatly anticipated a planned trip to Michigan then Alaska. Kenny belonged to the Englewood Pool League and was team Captain. He also played on the Englewood Dart League. With a great love for football he cheered for his beloved Lions and Buccaneers through thick and thin. Ken took great pride in being a Secret Santa to local families throughout the years. Kenny attended Suncoast Worship Center and set the example for how to be “the best friend anyone could ever have!”

He is survived by his brother, Richard (Nancy) Worcester of Clinton, Utah, and their children Rick and Christine; his sister Melinda “Luper” (Bill) Ireland of Englewood and their children Kimberly (David) Beckstead, Erin, Dylan and Mackenzie; and proud uncle to many great nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father and mother.

Ken will be missed and loved by so many, all of whom are welcome to attend a celebration of his life on Sunday, January 13, 2013 at 1:00 PM at Armadillo’s Billiard and Brew, 622 N. Indiana Ave, Englewood, FL.

Arrangements by ICS Cremation and Funerals, Inc., Harbour Heights.
