Anthony S. Giordano, 81, of Port Charlotte, Fla., passed away suddenly Saturday, Dec. 22, 2012, in Lake Suzy, Fla.

He was born Feb. 24, 1931, in Rochester, N.Y., to Salvatore and Grace Giordano.

Anthony moved to Port Charlotte in 1996 from New Carrollton, Md. He was retired from the National Security Agency of Fort Meade, Md., and served in the U.S. Air Force. Anthony, a first-generation Italian-American, was a loyal Washington Redskins and Maryland Terrapins fan, an avid golfer, and a member of Kingsway Country Club of Lake Suzy.

He is survived by his daughter, Lynda C. Giordano of Port Charlotte; son, Russell A. (Eilene) Giordano of Ellicott City, Md.; sister, Frances G. DeLoatche of Arlington, Va.; granddaughter, Sarah Giordano of Ellicott City; and significant other, Carol Tafuri of Lake Suzy. Anthony was preceded in death by his wife, Jean E. Giordano, who passed away in May 2000.

Private memorial services and interment will be held at a later date at Glen Haven Memorial Park of Glen Burnie, Md. Donations in his memory may be made to the American Heart Association or the National MS Society.
