Irene A. Hocking, 94, of Port Charlotte, Fla., passed away Thursday, Dec. 20, 2012.

She was born Nov. 17, 1918, in Greeley, Colo., and moved to this area 31 years ago from Colonia, N.J.

Irene was a private secretary and a member of Community Life Center Church in Port Charlotte, and had been very active in the Church.

Survivors include her husband of 71 years, Edward; daughter, Linda (Rob) Jenks of Lehigh Acres, Fla.; and grandchildren, Sara Ventiera of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., and Edward Jenks of Orlando, Fla.

Services will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to TideWell Hospice Inc., 5955 Rand Blvd., Sarasota, FL 34238.

Arrangements are by National Cremation Society of Port Charlotte.
