Robert J. De Pratt
Robert J. De Pratt, 61, passed away Monday, Nov. 19, 2012, in his home after long years of illness.
He moved to Punta Gorda, Fla., in July of 2008, from Wilmington, Ill. Robert was a member of Iron Workers Union Local 444 of Joliet, Ill. He was forced to retire due to his longtime illness in 2006. He was a lifetime member of VFW Cantigny Post 367 of Joliet and the American Legion Post 0103 in Punta Gorda. Robert was a high school graduate and served in the U.S. Army and did two tours in Vietnam. He was of the Catholic Faith all of his life
Robert is survived by his wife, Barbara (Decman); daughters, Kena Sievert of Tampa, Fla., and Kelly Sievert of Joliet; step-children, Tim Maticic of Punta Gorda, and Elizabeth Barton (Rob) of Palatine, Ill.; beloved grandsons, Trenton and Tyler Barton; brother, John “nerves” De Pratt of Wilmington; numerous sister-in-laws and brother-in-laws; also numerous nieces and nephews; and grand nieces and grand nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother, Georgia (Gierich) De Pratt; father, Elmer De Pratt; and step-mother, Marge (Beaker) De Pratt.
