James L. Warren

James L. “Jim” Warren, 78, of Port Charlotte, Fla., a faithful servant to the Lord Jesus Christ, went to be with the Lord, Friday, Oct. 26, 2012.

He was born June 26, 1934, in Piqua, Ohio, the son of Harry and Margaret (nee Bales) Warren.

Before moving to Florida in 1983, James and Janet owned and operated the Credit Bureau of Miami Co. for 28 years. After moving to Florida, he was semiretired in the real estate field and in retail. Jim was a member of Liberty Community Church of North Port, Fla., and of Gideons International, Peace River Camp in Charlotte County. Fla., for 22 years. He was a deacon at First Baptist Church of Troy, Ohio, for many years, as well as a deacon at First Baptist Church of Punta Gorda, Fla.

Jim will be greatly missed by his loving wife of 58 years, Janet; sister, Carolyn (Art) Crandell of The Villages, Fla.; son, Jim (Sydney) II of New Smyrna Beach, Fla.; daughter, Jill (Bruce) Clark of Dupont, Wash.; grandchildren, Matthew, Marc and Jessica; great-grandchildren, Nevaeh and Sarah; and nieces and nephews in Ohio and Florida.

A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 17, 2012, at Liberty Community Church in North Port (just off Veterans Boulevard in Port Charlotte). Memorial donations may be made to Liberty Community Church Building Fund, 2759 Wylam Drive, North Port, FL 34288; or the Gideons Peace River Camp, P.O. Box 380663, Murdock, FL 33938.
