The City Council approved a proposed not-to-exceed millage rate for the FY 2014 budget at 3.1969 mills, which is 1.5 percent less than the current millage and represents the rolled back rate. This amount will bring in the same property tax revenues as the current year, without new construction.
The City Council also established FY 2014 tentative assessments for the Punta Gorda Isles and Burnt Store Isles Canal Maintenance Assessment Districts at their current amounts, $500 and $400 for each single-family residence in PGI and BSI, respectively.
