Now trending in landscape — spots and yellow-bellies

Your landscape is a dynamic stage of change and interesting drama. While many times plant situations may look bad, they are often minor in nature and do not warrant much reaction.

One such problem that occurs every year at this time is “tar spots” on mahogany trees. If you have a mahogany tree, this fungal leaf disease can be quite alarming. Another organism showing up in our landscapes now is the yellow-bellied sapsucker. The lines of holes pecked by this bird in certain trees is also troubling to home-owners. Let’s look at these natural occurrences now trending in the landscape.
