Congratulations go out to four Charlotte County athletes who recently took part in the Special Olympics Florida State Fall Classic in Orlando. According to a release from Charlotte County Special Olympics, Albert Van Lenten and Richard Gonzalez competed in bowling, and Robbie Dixon and Larry Aubin competed in powerlifting.

Albert earned a bronze medal and Richard, Larry and Robbie earned gold medals. Robbie will be competing at the 2014 National Special Olympics games in New Jersey. In addition, all six of Charlotte County’s powerlifters will be competing in an invitational event in January 2013 in Atlanta.
