Today, I wish my daughter Laurel happy birthday. I pray God’s rich blessing will be upon her during this next year.

As I submitted this column, the presidential election was still four days away. The ­winner of the presidential campaign needs to realize that his authority is, first and foremost, a gift from God. Romans 13:1, New International Version, says, “Let everyone be subject to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established. The authorities that exist have been established by God.”
