Headliners chosen for 2014 Wine & Jazz Fest

The car treasure hunt was incredible fun for all who participated, especially for the wining team — MAYHEM. Comprised of team captain Jim Hammar of Michael Saunders and Co. and accompanied by Joanne Reid and Sue and Paul Reeves, MAYHEM drew attention to themselves as they paraded around town in distressed costumes, sporting bloody bandages and wounds.

T he artists performing for the main day of th e ninth annual Wine & Jazz Festival have been announced. Taking the stage at Laishley Park on Feb. 22, 2014, are Mindi Abair, Richard Elliott, Norman Brown and Gerald Albright, with a finale that will include all acts. The park will open at 12:30 p.m., with the first headliner going on stage shortly after 1 p.m.

The festival, put on by the Punta Gorda Chamber of Commerce, will kickoff on Feb. 20, 2014, during Gallery Walk, followed by a VIP reception on Feb. 21 to meet the artists who will perform during the main event on Feb. 22. A jazz brunch, brought to you by Presley Beane Financial Services, will take place at the Isles Yacht Club on Feb. 23.
