Jeff Weiler always wanted his own engineering firm. His dream came true when he established Weiler Engineering Corporation in 1993 in Port Charlotte, later moving the business to 201 W. Marion Ave., Suite 1306, Punta Gorda, in 2011. Hard work and dedication by Weiler and his wife, Janeen, vice president/marketing director, and a staff of 24, have accomplished beating the competition.

The Weiler firm has received the American Public Works Association award for the National Public Works Project of the Year for environmental projects that cost more than $75 million. The project the firm was recognized for working on took place in Marathon, Fla., and was called the Florida’s Sewer, Stormwater, Reclaimed Water and Road Rehabilitation Project.
