Fourth-grader makes national BMX tracks

Shawn LeFresne didn’t let an unfamiliar track slow him.

The Port Charlotte fourth-grader competed in the November USA BMX Grand National Championship in Tulsa, Okla., where he placed seventh among 68 riders. The 10-year-old expert rider was the only one from Charlotte BMX to reach the main event.
