The Silver King Marching Band of Charlotte High School is literally taking aim at reaching their goal of $45,000 that will allow them to participate at a nationwide music festival in Washington, D.C., in April.
On Jan. 19, many of the band members, families and their supporters gathered at the Ice House Pub in Punta Gorda to take part in a double-elimination dart tournament to help raise money for the trip. The competition is from April 4-7 and is sponsored by the World Strides Heritage Festivals, a Utah-based company that specializes in producing musical events around the country.
