Snook Haven Restaurant in Venice, which has been closed since late May after Sarasota County terminated its consessionare agreement with a former vendor, is set to reopen next month. It will be run by The Venice Pier Group, which oversees the popular Sharky's on the Pier.
SARASOTA COUNTY — The restaurant at Snook Haven, one of the area’s most popular outdoor hangout spots over the last 50 years, is set to reopen next month after it gets its expected final stamp of approval from the Sarasota County Commission on Tuesday.
Thanks to The Venice Pier Group — the owners of Sharky’s on the Pier restaurant, headed by Mike Pachota — Snook Haven again will be a place to meet, eat and enjoy live entertainment, just as it was over the last half-century, after the group’s proposal to manage the restaurant was chosen by the county, which owns the 2.5-acre Snook Haven Park off River Road.
