ARCADIA — Florida Gov. Rick Scott paid a visit here Wednesday when he spoke before a group of local business and government leaders in a by-invitation-only event at the DeSoto County Chamber of Commerce.

The overall message from the governor was that Tallahassee is more than willing to help DeSoto, but the county must help itself first.
