at home in Punta Gorda

Punta Gorda resident Nancy Andreae, right, bumped into Cathy and Mike Drury while visiting their Whisky Castle during a bike tour through Scotland. During a whisky tasting, she discovered the couple had just purchased a home in the Punta Gorda area.

Punta Gordy
You can bump into Punta Gorda
people almost anywhere, but
longtime resident and world-
traveler Nancy Andreae didn’t expect to find one while on an August bicycle tour through a remote area of Scotland.
The group stopped in Tomintoul, a town of just 360 people that lies on the Scottish Whisky (no “e” per the Scottish spelling) Trail, to attend a tasting at the Whisky Castle. The host that night was Mike Drury, the proprietor, who let drop to his mostly American crowd that he had just purchased a home here.
