Oblivious to all the excitement around her, Leigh Morrison was enjoying the chicken and rice soup from Phil’s 41 while at the 13th annual Empty Bowls benefit held Tuesday evening for the first time at the Cultural Center of Charlotte County. “It’s just so good,” Morrison said between sips. Hundreds were also enjoying the variety of soups from a number of local restaurants that donated for the Empty Bowls event. Proceeds support the Charlotte County Homeless Student Program, The Charlotte County Homeless Coalition, Good Samaritans and the Yah Yah Girls’ Back Pack Kidz to continue preventing hunger in our community.
The 13th annual Empty Bowls benefit was held Tuesday evening for the first time at the Cultural Center of Charlotte County.
