David Lloyd Alford, 85, of Punta Gorda, Fla., passed away Friday, March 8, 2013.

He was born Nov. 27, 1927, in Peoria, Ill.

David was proud to have served in the U.S. Army. He retired as a sales manager with ConAgra Foods after 45 years of service. David and Louise moved to Punta Gorda in 1993, from the Chicago, Ill., area. He was a member of the Port Charlotte Country Club, and sang in the Charlotte Chorale for 10 years.

David is survived by his beloved wife of 65 years, Louise; brother, Donald (Paula) Alford of Fairmont, Minn.; sister-in-law, Nancy (Rick) Koelbel of Peoria; and lots of loving nieces and nephews.

Services will be private at Sarasota National Cemetery in Sarasota, Fla.

Arrangements are by National Cremation Society of Port Charlotte, Fla.
