Carol Lee Sivewright
Carol Lee Sivewright, 75, of Port Charlotte, Fla., passed away Sunday, March 3, 2013, at her residence.
Mrs. Sivewright was born Sept. 4, 1937, in Detroit, Mich., to John and Frances (nee Seaton) Rountree, and moved to Port Charlotte seven years ago.
Carol spent her childhood in Auburn, Ind., and resided in Louisville, Ky., and Queenstown, Md., prior to moving to Florida. In addition to being a member of St. Maximilian Kolbe Catholic Church in Port Charlotte, Carol was active in a number of civic and charitable organizations. One of her proudest accomplishments was organizing the knitting of shawls for Project Hope Bags, in association with Florida Cancer Specialists. As a volunteer for the Susan G. Komen Foundation, she was a founder of Passionate Pinks, which led to Charlotte County, Fla., becoming a Susan G. Komen affiliate. She also worked to raise participation in the area for Race for the Cure. Carol had a very successful professional career in sales, interior design and real estate.
Mrs. Sivewright is survived by her mother, Frances of Fort Wayne, Ind.; children, Joseph (Susie) Sivewright of St. Louis, Mo., Michael (Leslie) Sivewright of Atlanta, Ga., Elizabeth (Dean) Maxwell of Macomb, Mich., and Amy (Ben) Peter of Louisville; brothers, John (Sandra) Rountree of Asheville, N.C., and Thomas Rountree of Fort Wayne; sister, Chris (Mark) Wasson of Dallas, Texas; grandchildren, Caroline (Glenn) Warren, Robert, John, Charles and Bridget Sivewright, and Benton, Gracie and Bryce Peter; and her great-granddaughter, Peyton Peter. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 56 years, Richard.
