Ronald was born May 5, 1958, in Tupelo, Miss., and moved to Port Charlotte in 2006 from Arcadia, Fla.

He was an independent telephone contractor and a member of Deep Creek Community Church of Punta Gorda, Fla. Ronald was an avid fisherman and loved the outdoors. He was a loving son, husband, father and Papa, who will be missed by his family and friends.

He is survived by his loving family, including his wife, Sharon L. Collier of Port Charlotte; three daughters, Melissa (Kirkland) Desmond of Knoxville, Tenn., Crystal (Kevin) Lisby of Punta Gorda, and Kelli (A.J.) Davidson of Punta Gorda; a son, Landon Collier of Punta Gorda; a stepson, Alex Hill of Port Charlotte; his mother, Alice Collier-Patrick; stepfather, Les Patrick of Arcadia; and five grandchildren, Rome Jacob Desmond, Logan Andrew Desmond, Kalani Brooke Desmond, Cruz Lee Desmond and Everett Jordan Davidson.

Visitation will be held from 1 p.m. until the funeral services at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 2, 2013, at Roberson Funeral Home, Port Charlotte Chapel. Private interment will be held at Joshua Creek Cemetery in Arcadia. A reception for family and friends will be held following the funeral services at Deep Creek Community Church, 1500 Cooper St., Punta Gorda.

Ron had a special heart for needy children, and has donated to this cause in Charlotte County, Fla., therefore, the family is requesting that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made in his name to the Yah Yah Girls Inc., 2440 Manchester Trail, Punta Gorda, FL 33950. Please write “Back Packs for Kidz” in the notes section of the donation. This charity provides food to school-age children when not in schools, when they otherwise would not eat. Friends may visit online at www.robersonfh.com to sign the memory book and extend condolences to the family.

Arrangements are by Roberson Funeral Home, Port Charlotte Chapel.
