Gerald Thomas “Jerry” McBride, 68, of Port Charlotte, Fla., passed away Friday, Oct. 12, 2012, in Chillicothe, Ohio.

He was born Sept. 12, 1944, in Columbus, Ohio, to Paul F. and Roberta L. (nee Arthur) McBride.

Jerry served in the U.S. Air Force and the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He worked in Port Charlotte as an exceptional drywall finisher for Shirley Drywall and Gerald Drywall.

Gerald is survived by his daughter, Ashley (Tanner) Hall; grandson, Braden Hall; sisters, Dolores Breckenridge, Dorothy Travis, Deanna (John) Fox, twin sister, Jacqueline Conkel, Janet (Tom) Clark and Judith (Keith) Cupp; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his sons, William and Dion; and sisters, Donna Bennett and Peggy Cariker.

A memorial service was held Sunday, Oct. 21, 2012, in Chillicothe, by his nephew, Skeeter Bothman, and sister, Judy Cupp, at the Bothman home, overlooking the mountains that he dearly loved.

Arrangements are by Haller Funeral Home, Chillicothe.
