County eyes court fight

MURDOCK — In response to being assigned most of the cost for the Peace River Facility rebuild project, Charlotte County commissioners on Tuesday authorized a legal challenge against the Peace River/Manasota Regional Water Supply Authority.

Before taking any action, county officials are waiting until the water board’s next meeting Dec. 3, when the authority is expected to vote final approval on billing Charlotte County 79 percent of the $12.8 million cost to renovate the aging water plant.
