Charlotte and Peace River regional medical centers presented a Laughter is the Best Medicine Women’s Health Expo Saturday at Fishermen‘s Village in Punta Gorda. Bestselling author Michelle Phillips and award-winning healthy TV chef and comedian, Tim Wilkins, joined by other health experts in this half-day event, spoke on the importance of good health habits. PUNTA GORDA — An attentive audience got to chuckle a bit and absorb some serious health and nutrition advice at the same time, during a Laughter is the Best Medicine Women’s Health Expo Saturday at Fishermen’s Village.

Attendees got their blood-pressure, glucose, pulse and even blood-oxygen levels tested; received information on stroke prevention; got a pep talk from a life coach; and heard a series of compelling lectures during the event, sponsored by the Peace River and Charlotte regional medical centers.
