DEEP CREEK — The day after canal-maintenance workers located a car belonging to Terry Beghin — who has been missing since 1986 — authorities remained on the scene “trying to find anything to give closure to (Beghin’s) family,” said Capt. Les Partington, criminal investigations commander with the Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office.

No signs of human remains were with the car — a 1982 Chevrolet Corvette — when it initially was found Thursday morning in a canal near Rampart Boulevard and Navigator Road.
