Bookshelves reveal a lot about a person.

You can tell if a person quit smoking, seeks financial improvement, enjoys a love story, wants to redecorate a room, or fears the zombie apocalypse. You can tell a lot if a person has 50 books on one topic. You can tell even more if none of those 50 books appears to have been opened, but there’s one especially worn classic that’s been dog-eared and marked.
