Congratulations to Wayne Sallade. Charlotte County’s director of emergency management recently posted on his Facebook page that he had been notified by the National Hurricane Conference that his Know Your Zone reflective evacuation collar program was selected to receive the Special Achievement in Hurricane Public Awareness Award at next month’s meeting in New Orleans. He wrote that he would “be there to accept the honor on behalf of the people of Charlotte County, who have supported and assisted in the success of this endeavor over the past nearly three years.”
