Gladys Densten was 6 years old when the flu epidemic of 1919 took her young mother.
In 1927, her father, Enoch Craig Densten, brought her to live with his parents in McCall, then a thriving community with a railroad going through it located where State Road 776 and County Road 771 — Gasparilla Road — intersect today.
