Melinda and Durwin Young of North Port have announced the launch of the greater Charlotte County chapter of Seniors Helping Seniors, a service consisting of caregivers age 55-and-over providing in-home assistance to elderly clients.

“Seniors Helping Seniors is a franchise that was started in Pennsylvania about seven to 10 years ago by a woman named Kiran Yocom,” Melinda said. “She worked with (Mother) Theresa for a while, before coming to this country. There’s probably nine locations on the east coast of Florida and three on this coast. We hire seniors to help take care of seniors.”
