Students help tornado victims

Students from Bartow High's Life Management and Transition Preparation for Post School Adult Living baked and sold cookies to raise money for tornado vicitms. They raised $617. The students in the class are Taquania Irving and Chase Scarborough who are seated and behind them are Reese Lother, Joy Campbell, Kennith Baucom, School Board member Hazel Sellers who was visiting the class and BHS Assistant Principal Emilean Clemons.

After watching the tornado damage in Moore, Okla., on the Channel 1 news at Bartow High School exceptional students in Teresa Mount’s class wanted to help.

They helped by baking and selling cookies for four days during Memorial Day week and sold bags of three cookies for a dollar. Altogether they donated $617 to the tornado fund started by the Polk Education Foundation.
