PORT CHARLOTTE — The one part that has been missing from Tampa Bay’s workouts so far in spring training — at least in large quantities — was the crack of the bat.
Since the first players reported on Tuesday, the only time that sound happened was when players that reported early took swings as part of informal workouts. On Sunday, during Tampa Bay’s first full-squad practice, the sound was a constant presence.
