PUNTA GORDA — If all you saw from Clyde Newton over the past two years was his production, you missed out. And that’s acknowledging that his 2012 season could have matched up against any area running back in recent memory.

If you ask Charlotte High School football coach Binky Waldrop about Newton, the first thing he will talk about will not be his speed, his strength or endurance. It’s his character.
