BRADENTON — Venice came into Friday’s regional semifinal against Manatee hoping to shock the nation’s No. 1-ranked team on its own field.

Instead, the Hurricanes delivered a thorough reality check en route to a 56-7 victory, ending Venice’s season for the second consecutive year.
