James E. Broadhurst, 82, of North Port, Fla., passed away Tuesday, Jan. 29, 2013.

He was born March 29, 1930, in Lawrence, Mass., to James J. and Hazel Broadhurst.

James has lived in North Port for 25 years, after relocating from Lawrence. He served in the United States Navy, and was a member of AMVETS Post 312, American Legion Post 254 and Moose Lodge 764. James was an avid golfer.

He is survived by his children, James Broadhurst II, Alana L. Daly and Lamont Rodger; siblings, Joan Yokley, and Clark and Arthur Broadhurst; eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
