Rose Sharon “Sherry” Wallace, 72, of North Port, Fla., and Rector, Ark., passed away Tuesday, Jan. 15, 2013.

She was born Aug. 21, 1940, in Rector.

Sherry moved from Rector to Punta Gorda, Fla., after retiring from Emerson Electric in Kennett, Mo., in 1986, and began working in the hospitality industry at the Howard Johnson Inn, overlooking Charlotte Harbor. She had no hotel experience when taking this position, however her “gift of gab” was all she needed. Sherry continued work in the hospitality industry and was awarded The President’s Award in 1998 from The HomeWood Suites hotel chain. She also worked part time as a Lee County toll collector until retirement. Sherry will be remembered as a person who never met a stranger, and a woman who was so very proud of her children and grandchildren.

She will be greatly missed by her children, Tonya (Dan) Justice of Cape Coral, Fla., Tim (Jackie) Moore of Port Charlotte, Fla., and Nancy (Chris) Rovik of Canton, Mich.; brothers, Andy Moseley of Port Charlotte, and Tony Moseley of Punta Gorda; six grandchildren; and her grand dog, Abby.

A memorial service to celebrate Sherry’s life will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 26, 2013, at Larry Taylor Funeral and Cremation Services. Memorial donations may be made in Sherry’s name to RHS Helping Hands Foundation via www.rhshelpinghands.org. To express condolences to the family, please sign the online guestbook.

Arrangements are by Larry Taylor Funeral and Cremation Services.
