Joe Markey, 81, of North Port, Fla., died suddenly, Sunday, Dec. 16, 2012, at his home in North Port.

The family and many friends mourn his passing. Joe spread kindness and joy until his final day. He will be remembered for his quirky humor, his original sense of style, and, most of all, for his willingness to always be there to help others.

Joe is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Fran; sons, Dana (Cheryl) of Manchester, Vt., Tim (Lynne) of Concord, N.H., and Rich (Sheri) of Fort Collins, Colo.; daughter, Jill (Leif) of Ridgway, Colo.; brother, Paul of Arcadia, Fla.; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

A celebration of Joe’s life will take place in his hometown of Manchester at a future date.
