Sherry L. Godshall, 58, of North Port, Fla., died at her home Monday, Dec. 17, 2012.

She was born a quarter Cherokee Indian in Chambersburg, Pa., and came to Florida from Lansdale, Pa., 25 years ago.

Sherry worked as a home health care nurse and as a Hospice nurse. She was an excellent baker. She enjoyed shopping and caring for her plants. Some of her favorite times were when she was traveling and cruising. Sherry loved her dogs, Brittany, William and Oliver.

Surviving family members include her husband, James of North Port; daughter, Tracy Lynn (Rob) Davis of Skippack, Pa.; son, Shawn Michael (Nicole Parker) Godshall of North Port; daughter, Tesha Lea (Jose) Hernandez of North Port; sister, Susan (Calvin Higinson) Freese of North Port; mother, Arlena Bell Cressman of North Port; grandchildren, Chase Allen Davis, twins, Brice Casey Davis and Jackson James Davis, and Kayden W. Shaffer. She was preceded in death by her father, Richard Cressman.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 5, 2013, at Living Waters Lutheran Church in Port Charlotte, Fla. Donations in Sherry’s memory can be sent to the church at 12475 Chancellor Blvd., Port Charlotte, FL 33953.
